BoCo VOAD Purpose
The purpose of the Boulder County VOAD (BoCoVOAD) is to unite the efforts of community, government, faith based organizations, businesses and non-profit organizations to provide collaborative support, holistic response, and effective relief to people affected by disaster in Boulder County and surrounding communities. The Boulder County VOAD strives to connect community and business leaders, government representatives, and voluntary organizations in planning and preparedness before disaster events occur.
The purpose of the training is to prepare volunteers to be deployed as Disaster Case Managers when Our Front Porch is called to respond to a disaster.
A fun, hands-on learning experience that helps educate and prepare the community to respond to and recover from a disaster.
Resilience, or the ability to better adapt to and quickly recover from adverse impacts, can be learned.
