Community Food Share Responds to COVID-19
Updated: Mar 20, 2020
The Community Food Share is adapting to the needs of Boulder County and serving all members of the community through this crisis.
This situation is evolving quickly, and we will continue to adapt. Here are the actions we’ve taken thus far:
We continue to serve residents of Boulder County and Broomfield County; all other eligibility requirements (including documentation) are waived at this time so that our neighbors can receive the food they need right now (USDA programs excluded).
Increasing the amount of food that our Partner Agencies can order to ensure these 40 organizations can continue to meet the essential needs of our community.
Our onsite pantry has shifted from indoor shopping to a drive-through model. For additional program adjustments, see below.
We are stocking up emergency food items, planning for the increased need of those we already serve, as well as the possible influx of individuals who may need our support for the first time due to work disruption and school closures. We are also planning for additional alternative food distribution models, in the event this pandemic causes a societal disruption, including food drops.
To promote social distancing, we are modifying the ways we distribute food through all of our programs:
Our onsite pantry is now a drive-through model. Please remain in your car, and our staff and volunteers will load food into your trunk or backseat.
Our mobile pantries and senior program, Elder Share, will distribute prepackaged boxes of food.
We continue to serve residents of Boulder County and Broomfield County; all other eligibility requirements (including documentation) are waived at this time (USDA programs excluded).
As a reminder to all of our program participants, please send a friend, family member, or neighbor on your behalf, if any of the following are true:
